Hi Yawl,
Yep youz guyz guessed it, I'm a needy type to bloke, & constantly asking for help.

I have bought a Logitech QuickCam Connect, which has an inbuilt microphone, and plan to fit it to the underside of the 105's passenger’s sun visor as a Cruiser Cam. 8)
I've managed to install the software & hooked the Cam successfully to the Lap Top with the exception of Sound. I got none.
Any Ideas anyone.?

By default your notebook would use its built-in microphone for sound and if the "volume" or sensitivity is not set high enough then you will not be able to record anything but loud sounds.

If you are running Windows XP then you can do the following to select the microphone of the QuickCam,
1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Sounds & Audio Devices
3. Click the Audio tab
4. Use the dropdown selection for Sound Recording to select your QuickCam microphone
5. Use the Volume button to set the recording volume of the microphone

Hope this helps.

Sometimes there is a driver cd which comes with the webcams which needs to be installed BEFORE plugging in the device.
With these, if the device is plugged in first then you will need to go into Control Panel, System, and remove the device from the Hardware Manager and reboot without the device plugged in so you can install the drivers first as instructed.

After a day at work absolutely spitting venom after missing a whole day out in the Mud with the inclusion of Hill climb  that couldn't be negotiated without a Diff Lockas on my new Cruiser Cam.
:?
I decided the Young Bloke behind the counter at D.S.E was in for an ear bashing. :x
First up I figured it would be a good idea to test the Cam one more time using your directions Kev, rather than making a complete toss of myself 8)

Nup it's stuffed I sed to meself.

So I rings the Bloke at D.S.E and proceeded to complain/Whine & most importantly Curse about the Cruise Cam

It turns out this bloke was extremely apologetic,

& like a true gentleman 8) I accepted his Groveling pathetic apology  ............................especially since the Cam didn't have a Mic in it in the first place.

My question now is who's at wrong. ?
Me in my feeble years for assuming all Web Cams come with onboard Mic's 8)
or this Young Pup who assumed I knew what I was after  , but never asked if I did ,nor whether or not I wanted a one with a Mic.

anywho, the Cam has now been changeover, & lucky for him too

In the Words of the Great Doghnut Muncher

DOH !

I'd call it a draw.
Glad we got that sorted out and I'm looking forward to the vids.
