Postby happy on Tue Dec 18, 2007 2:47 pm

Ok I have an oldie but a goodie. Mine is a 16 foot millard 80 series with a full annex. Double island bed at 1 end and double bunks at the other. The table is removed to sleep our young daughter in the seats as another bed.

Did you do any mods to the chassis or suspension? Mine's in now becoming more 'offroad' compatible.

Ours is an 18ft 2009 Jayco Outback Expanda with most of the accessories, solar, lcd/dvd, etc. Making plenty of use of it at the moment.

No chassis mods, didn't need to. Hubby did put new 7 leaf springs in but wasnt happy with them so added another 2 bringing them up to 9 leaf. It's only 1340kg with most of our stuff in it bit reasonably low clearance.

We were going to undersling? the axle but since visiting the Melbourne Caravan show we found ourselves signing up for a Coromal 616s. 20' full van, queen island bed, 2 bunks, shower/toilet etc.
Will be selling the old girl about mid June.

It's akways the way ... bet the older van is more offroad ready than the Coromal ... our Jayco now has a much stronger chassis and the suspension will be beefed up early enxt year.

Good luck with the new van!
