has anyone ever done this to their van & how difficult was it?

I did a Jayco camper and it was great offroad clearance :D It wasnt too hard, but you will find your annexe wont reach the ground after it Will find some pics if I can

thanks steve, the annexe that i have is off my old chesney & that had been under slung so the height doesnt bother me. should work out ok just have to find the time to do it before summer :roll:

Just make sure the little cradles the axle sits in are interchangeable upside down cause some arent I cant seem to get the photos to come up

g/day fellow vanner, yes i have a tandem jayco sterling 08 mod and i did my axles.not hard to do but you have a few things to watch.first of you have to have a welder so you can weld on new saddles for the center bolt, make sure you weld them in the same spot on the top side of the axle as the original ones are on the bottom.you may have to cut the centre bolt flush with the nut. make sure the hole in saddle is big enough to take centre bolt nut.you will see as you go what has to be done and i hope you end up happy with the result as we are. see ya

I'm getting mine done next year ... want to put bigger tyres on it (205's ... can't stand the piddly 185's).

Something to check is your insurance company as some don't alllow it so it's good to check before you do it. Mine will allow it so long as it's done by a caravan dealer.
