Our old poptop

Postby Brisey on Sat Sep 27, 2008 11:40 pm

This is our van a 1979 12 ft windsor statesman poptop we bought it a few years ago because it was the only van we could find at the time that was under the puny tow rating (900 kg) of our jeep wrangler. Since then we have bought a CRD jeep cherokee which is now the main tow vehicle so eventually we will upgrade to a bigger van. It tows very well & the Chero doesn't even notice it. The van has single beds (but will soon have a queen size double) & an enclosed annexe so is reasonably comfortable for the two of us.

Cheers

Looks like a real tidy unit, with that weight you wouldn't even know it was behind the car.

Thanks guy, yeah it's in good condition for the age, I bought it from a bloke in our 4x4 club a few years ago, it would have been the top of the range when it was built with independant suspension, spring bed bases & the stove has an oven. Nice & light too it tows like a dream.

Cheers
