just back from 6 week trip up north---not far bourke --lighnng ridge brisbane ---home via wellington and forbes done 5.500 k no problems except for using 10ltres of oil (oh dear)
using that much oil i would expect to see smoke but none noticed and no leaks either so whats up .
its an old LJ 2.2 diesel with only 169.000 ks starts and runs extra well climbed cunninhams gap with no problem so has power ----am using valvoline 20/50 oil. The handbook says to use SAE oil but not what grade .

I had a petrol Paj that used up a bit of oil and yet there was no sign of oil leaks anywhere. The only conclusion that anyone could make (mechanics) was that it was an oldish motor and as such is prone to using up more oil.

Sorry I can't be any more helpful.

definately no oil leaks showing on ground or engine being an older diesel engine 1982 toyota perhaps might have to use a bit of oil?-----it only has 169.000 ks on original motor
