Great work mate!

Let us know how the first trip goes.

I haven't underslung my van purposefully ... I just paid to have some extra strong bars placed under the chassis thus strengthening the whole chassis. For me, I'd never undersling a van if I was going to take it on dirt road ... particularly if there are corrugations. But that's just me.

Look forward to reading of its maiden voyage.

Thanks Scol I know jayco undersling their offroad campers and some vans to get extra height so I thought it would be ok. Oh well I hope I dont learn the hard way. A couple of pics not real good as I couldnt pull the van out for a pic

Quite a few do it and it's certainly not unusual.

The reason I won't do it is because I take my van on dirt roads and an underslung van is more unstable than a normally slung van ie. the bolts etc are trying to unloosen themselves due to gravity acting on it differently.

It might sound wacky but I've managed to chat to a few van manufacturers (not the salemen, but the guys who design and build the vans) and they won't undersling an offroad van. Like I said, if you don't plan going bush you should be ok.

 ... don't ya hate that!

I think my fuel bill works out to be approx. $27/ 100k ... it's not too bad but would work out to be over $600 return to Vic. Oddly enough when I hit the country roads my bill drops to $20/ 100k as I go slower becuase there is much less traffic.

Oh! If you ever come up here and don't drop in I'll put a horrible curse on you and your family ... well ... just you ... the family is cursed with you and your expensive toys so that's enough ... :o

Vans looking great Sharky. Underslinging sounds like the way to go for an easy clearance solution to the lower "on road" vans. Nows that she's rego'd time to hit the road.

 I'm already cursed, I would have said something but I didnt want to jinks it  :( oh I'm pretty peeved off as was looking so forward to it. I dont know how much juice the Paj will use yet, but towing it (empty) home from Leongatha (approx 150k's) when I bought it, it used around a notch or two on the guage so will have to wait and see with it I guess.
