Calling all MaxTrax owners, lend me your Ears

After being caught in Weed mixed with Sand, I get all nervous every time I hit the beach now.....

Since it was my Birthday over Easter, the Missus put a set of MaxTrax's on Lay by for me . Personally I think she doesn't want to dig the cruiser out


Now the tricky bit starts


The Fella at ARB reckons that the ones he had put to aside broke in two

I reckon he's just Having a lend of the Missus and is too embarrassed to admit he sold them


Question is, Have any of you that own a set of these had any problems with them & should I just say
"Thanks, but no Thanks" and get something else They aint cheep & I don't want a waisted Pressy

Or is my initial suspicions correct & the looser has just gone & sold them

look i dont no but what ive herd they r tough as nails so i think he sold them

Haven't heard of any breaking. Could have used them myself a few times

We use them ... a 1.5tonne trailer hooked up to a 3 ltr patrol got bogged in Kincunna about a year ago. We came up behind him (a convoy of 5 CT's), dug him out, placed the maxtrax over the hole we made (we filled it in but still very soft) and got all CT's over the top plus an 11ft Windsor Rapid.

I honestly believe if we didn't ahve the maxtrax we would have had difficulty on that section as we would have sunk in where we dug the other bloke out.

i think he sold them on ya.
i have a set & the only thing i have had break is the little edges in 2 places but that was from incorect placement.

ive seen one snap but the guy was using it to brigde 2 big rocks but i have also seen an offroad truck ( finx support truck) use then n no prob if u use them rite good as gold


they bout 5th on my to get list

I dont remmember where I saw/heard it but I have heard of two occations of them breaking but not sure on the circumstances of it

The ones I have seen broken were caused by being used over rocks as I used to sell them.
We had a set tested by a mining company and those guys use them as if they stole them they wore of 5 or 6 nipples but they still worked but did not brake them

I was told of a design change by a fella from another site with the possibility of thicker Plastic So
after reading the comments from yawl, especially DragonHunter's & Freerocketman's

I figured it was high time to corner the fella at the ARB counter & quiz him just a lil bit on why my Missus was told the MAXTRAX were broken, needless to say he denied it he said "quote" I didn't even see them, but was told of the Box being ripped.

The Jury is back in & yep I reckon the loosa sold em,

anyhow
He had said he another set there, & the thought of asking the Missus to dig the Cruiser out doesn't sound all that promising



At least with these sucker's, I can say I'm safe now for at least 6 months, unless we get a heap of rain and Burges road gets real deep this year

I must of embarrassed the ARB Fella just a tad, cause he gave me a new Stubbie Holder with ARB on it,

It all sounds too much like free advertising to me though, I reckon I will only be bringing it out at nite
