Features I look for are...

Postby explorer » Wed Dec 05, 2007 6:46 pm

I have young kids so I want as much activities as I can find in the park. I like to have a park pool with shade shelter over it.

I like a good games room also. I like it close to shops and clubs so you can have a meal and a drink and walk back to the park.

A kiosk or shop in the park is also a bonus. A good clean BBQ area.

Has to be close to the beach so I can hear the waves when I go to bed.

I don't ask for much do I ?

If you know of any that have all of this and are reasonable priced, please let me know.

I think what you have listed explorer, the only thing i would add is somewhere that allow's a camp fire, nothing better than having a few brown lemonades around a fire.

Also need to have a good clean toilet/shower block, not one that's swimming in piss, nothing worse than a trip to the toilet in your thongs and wading through other peoples piss

It bloody annoys me about park owners and no bike rules thats why families go to them for their kids to be in a safer enviroment and it s**ts me that its apparently trendy to own a van now and I believe caravanning is suffering for it. Its still a cheaper holiday but boy oh boy it used to be a lot cheaper in comparrison to the alternative forms of accomodation. Dont get me wrong parks are in general a lot nicer than they used to be but we pay for the niceness now where I would be more than happy to go somewhere and have a nice shady grassed site bit of room for the kids to releive the boredom and maybe a pool and somewhere for a fire. Tennis courts dont even get me started on them :D

it is disgusting what these new owner's expect of the paying customer we are the one's keeping the park going, but i'm sure in the long run they will get what they want and have the retirement village aspect they have beem looking for

Yeh I dont know whether its the same up your way but caravan parks are very slowly giving way to cabin parks its a worry! Getting less and less sites around all the time.
