Caravan Batteries

Postby HAWK on Sun Jul 06, 2008 7:43 pm

I am in the process of fitting a battery to my caravan. The battery will need to power the lights and water pump when away from a power source. What size have other found suitable for this purpose.I can charge the battery with my generator when needed.I am thinking of a 100 amp hour battery.Would a deep cycle battery be the way to go.Any advice will be appreciated.
Regards hawk.

Do you have a Jayco windup? If so, you could be limited by space so maybe measure how much space you have and then take the measurements to battery world (or similar) to see what size battery you can fit under the seat (assuming that is where it goes).

A deep cycle is the best bet and hook it up to your car with an anderson plug so it can charge while drving. You probably have an adnerson plug sitting pretty on both Jayco and car ... yes?

Hope this helps.
